Triton Digital Releases the April 2022 U.S. Podcast Report


Triton Digital®, the global technology and services provider to the digital audio and podcast industry, has announced the release of the latest U.S. Podcast Report for the April 2022 reporting period (April 4 – May 1, 2022), as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.

For this reporting period, Stitcher Media remained in the #1 spot on the Top Networks Report with 53.0M Average Weekly Downloads and 13.9M Average Weekly Users, followed by, NPR coming in at #2 with 32.7M Average Weekly Downloads and 6.9M Average Weekly Users and Audacy Podcast Network with 29.5M Average Weekly Downloads and 8.0M Average Weekly Users.

For the month of April, there were 218M average weekly downloads for the top 20 publishers.

The top three podcasts based on downloads included NPR News Now (NPR) coming in again at #1, Crime Junkie (audiochuck/SXM Media) climbing to #2 and, The Ben Shapiro Show (Cumulus Podcast Network) at #3.

New shows that debuted during this period for downloads and listeners included Very Scary People (WarnerMedia), and Murder With My Husband (Cloud10).

Real Ghost Stories Online (Audioboom) debuted for downloads, while Critical Role (Stitcher Media) and Snapped: Women Who Murder (Wondery) debuted for listeners.

The Top Network Reports are ranked by Average Weekly Downloads and Average Weekly Users, in accordance with v2.1 of the IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines.
