Triton Digital Releases the August 2022 U.S. Podcast Report


Triton Digital®, the global technology and services provider to the digital audio and podcast industry, has announced the release of its August 2022 reporting period (August 1 – August 28, 2022), U.S. Podcast Report, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.

For this reporting period, Stitcher Media remained in the #1 spot on the Top Sales Networks Report for the month of August with 60.4M Average Weekly Downloads and 15.3M Average Weekly Users. Audacy Podcast Network came in at #2 with 33.5M Average Weekly Downloads and 8.8M Average Weekly Users, followed by NPR at #3 with 31.7M Average Weekly Downloads and 6.6M Average Weekly Users.

The top three podcasts based on downloads included Crime Junkie (audiochuck) at #1, NPR News Now (NPR) at #2, and The Ben Shapiro Show (Cumulus Podcast Network) at #3.

For listeners, the top 3 podcasts in August included Crime Junkie (audiochuck) at #1, Up First (NPR) at #2, and Morbid (Wondery) at #3.

New shows debuting during this period for listeners included The Sunshine Place (Audacy Podcast Network), Fed Up (Wondery), and The Bulwark Podcast (Cumulus Podcast Network) and for downloads The Bulwark Podcast (Cumulus Podcast Network).

For the month of August, there were 235.2M average weekly downloads for the top 20 publishers.
